Introducing Sal:
I was born in Tasmania. I have been playing and singing since around 1975. From 1995-2001 I was vocalist and bassist with a rock band from. Since moving to Mission Beach in 2001, I have been performing as a solo acoustic act. In the last 8 years I have also been vocalist and bass player with several local bands.
Solo I pay homage to the music that charts the story of my life. My eclectic mix is biased towards classic rock and contemporary Australian music. I was a COUNTDOWN kid of the 70Ős, so you may hear songs by Sherbet, Ted Mulry Gang or even ABBA! I play cover songs and delight in reintroducing audiences to songs from their past.
Vocally, my voice had been described as warm and powerful, which complements beautiful ballads by Cold Chisel, Ian Moss, Redgum, Ross Ryan and James Reyne to name a few. I confess to being a rock chick with a big powerful voice, when I chose to let it off the leash.
I play acoustic guitar and sometimes acoustic bass amplified through my wonderful little AER Bingo amplifier, although it is small, it delivers a clear and rich sound that will suit most venues.
The fine print: I sing 45 minute sets with a 15 minute break between sets
Please feel free to ring or email me if you have any questions.
Cheers Sal
