Uncaged Cycle Products Frame Sliders

Frame slider as mounted on the right side

Frame sliders installed, from above

These frame sliders are designed to strike the ground first in a fall or crash. As the name suggests, the frame sliders are mounted on the frame of the motorcycle. The pucks or ends of the sliders are designed to wear evenly and reasonably slowly in the event of a sliding impact.

The frame sliders were purchased here from Uncaged Cycle Products. Needless to say I am very pleased with this product

The headlight protector came from an Australian company, Australian Motorcycle Headlight Protectors. The unit is very well made and a very worthwhile investment at ~ $50 AU

FAZR6 is Mike Griffin's nickname on the FZ6 forum at sportsbikes.net; found here.

His FE kit cost me $80 AUD (delivered) and took less than an hour to fit. I am sure you agree the FZ6 looks better for having the FE kit installed.

To make up for the missing rear reflector, I stuck some refelctive red tape across the side of the licence plate light. I have since had a few roadside chats with the local constabulary who have not seen fit to comment on the orientation of the licence plate or the missing rear reflector.

LED Tail Light Replacement

Not worth the effort, the LED "bulb" didn't last six months!

I bought the LED "bulb" model Model No: AB1157 24HB, for two reasons, a) for greater presence (visibility) from behind and b) to avoid the hassle, risks and legal issues of blown filaments in regular tail light bulbs. There is not as big a difference in presence as I'd hoped but I am happy that there is an improvement. Only time will tell how long the LED "bulb" will last but the manufacturers talk in 1000's of hours when it comes to the life of LED units. Don't bother, the bulb crapped out in less than six months!
